BODYBAR Pilates Celebrates 100 Studios with 100 Reformers + $10K Giveback

A Fort Worth-based Pilates company plans to celebrate the opening of its 100th studio and the 100th anniversary of Pilates with an attempt to set a record for the largest reformer Pilates class.

BODYBAR Pilates will host a 50-minute class featuring 100 participants and 100 reformers at the Omni Frisco Hotel at The Star on September 13. The company also plans to donate $10,000 to the Foundation for Women’s Cancer during Gynecological Cancer Awareness Month.

Class Will Bring Together 100 Participants

The class is scheduled for 9:30 to 10:20 a.m. during BODYBAR’s annual conference in Frisco. Participants will include franchise owners, instructors, and invited media.

Kamille McCollum, BODYBAR’s chief brand officer, president, and co-founder, will lead the session with assistance from other instructors. Balanced Body is providing the 100 reformers.

BODYBAR said it will document the event and make the documentation available afterward. The attempt is being organized independently and will not take place under the supervision of a formal record-keeping organization.

Donation Will Support Cancer Organization

As part of the event, BODYBAR will donate $10,000 to the Foundation for Women’s Cancer. The company said the contribution represents $100 for each reformer used in the class.

The donation coincides with September’s Gynecological Cancer Awareness Month and will support the foundation’s work involving gynecologic cancer.

Event Marks 100 Years of Pilates

The celebration also marks a century since Joseph and Clara Pilates opened their first studio in New York City in 1926. The exercise method has since expanded internationally.

For BODYBAR, the event coincides with the opening of its 100th studio. The milestone location in Presidio in North Fort Worth opened on September 8.

McCollum said Texas was chosen for the anniversary celebration because of its connection to the company’s history.

“We see this event as a fun, one-of-a-kind opportunity to commemorate our growth, honor the legacy of Pilates, and bring our franchise community together,” McCollum said.

100th Studio Marks Company Growth

For BODYBAR, the event coincides with the opening of its 100th studio. The milestone location in Presidio in North Fort Worth opened on September 8. The new studio represents another step in BODYBAR’s expansion as a reformer Pilates franchise.

The Frisco event will bring members of the company’s franchise network together while recognizing the history of Pilates and BODYBAR’s growth. The record attempt is scheduled for September 13 at the Omni Frisco Hotel at The Star.
