Workers seem to be in good hands in Dallas-Fort Worth.
The D-FW region netted 22 companies on Inc.’s 2026 Best Workplaces list, which combines information on benefits, pay and management with employee feedback to rate the overall work environment at businesses around the country. Inc. published the list on Tuesday.
The region notched the most honorees of any other major Texas metro area. It was followed by Austin with 17 businesses on the list.
In total, the Lone Star State accounted for 45 of the 507 companies recognized.
The D-FW companies that were recognized provide a wide range of services, from hospitality and wellness to marketing and financial management.
Data center operator DataBank was one of the six Dallas businesses to make the cut. CEO Raul Martynek attributed the company’s success to “treating culture as a competitive advantage.”
“Last year, we gave our team ownership stake through our Employee Ownership Program, making every single DataBank employee a part-owner of the company,” he said in a statement. “This recognition demonstrates that when you give the people working day in and day out a real stake in the game, they take ultimate accountability.”
Limetree, a behavioral science-led marketing agency also based in Dallas, touted its 96.2 overall score and 100% favorable ratings on metrics such as feeling inspired by the work and trust in senior leadership. This is the firm’s third consecutive year on the best workplaces list.
“Sustained growth becomes possible when you build a company people believe in,” Limetree founder and president Tom Rouse said in a statement.
Valor, an asset management company based in Fort Worth that specializes in minerals, oil and gas, was also on the list. CEO and co-founder Joseph DeWoody celebrated the “incredible honor” in a statement, saying that the “national recognition reflects the culture our team has built together and the dedication of the people who make Valor such a meaningful and rewarding place to work.”
Companies that receive the distinction must have applied and met several eligibility criteria: be independent and U.S.-based, have at least five permanent employees, have been in business at least two years and have total annual revenue less than $1 billion.
They engage in a two-step review process overseen by Inc.’s partner, Quantum Workplace, which polls applicants on their benefit programs then surveys employees to see if the companies’ claims hold up. Businesses must meet a minimum score on both the benefits audit and the employee survey to be added to the list.
